Hello! I am Maria and I love creating, serving, and of course eating some yummy food.

I was struggling in finding a blog name that combined sweet and savory- I enjoy baking those desserts, but before desserts you must eat that entree. So what name fitted my passion? Sweetened Thyme! “Sweetened” like well sweets, and “thyme” like a savory herb. And the rest is history.

Here is a little bit more about my culinary life:

• I have been cooking since I was in 3rd grade, or at least that is the farthest memory I can recall. I was helping my older sister open the Zatarains Dirty Rice Mix, yummm.
• I really enjoy fine-dining and the wondrous food culture around New York City, but I try to make the best of it here, in the DMV area.
• My favorite cooking show is TopChef; it used to be MasterChef, but after auditioning for the show, I understood that it was truly reality t.v.

My goal: to make my own little bistro or cafe. The only thing stopping me from chasing my dreams, is myself. So watch out world, my name will soon be known worldwide and my culinary skills will take great heights. 🙂
